• AI confidence and the framework gap. Gallagher's 2026 Employee Communications Report puts a number on something most IC teams have felt: across all respondents, only 36% feel they have the skills to use AI effectively. Among those with routine use, governance, and structure in place, that jumps to 61%.

• Simpplr consolidates into one platform. Simpplr One is now the sole destination for new AI features. Classic hits limited support on July 31 — no bug fixes, no integration maintenance, no routine security patches. If you're on Simpplr, the migration timeline is worth reviewing.

• Shadow AI is about to get expensive. Employees are already feeding company data into unapproved tools. The EU AI Act fines reach €35 million for prohibited practices — and a new wave of high-risk obligations hits in August. Most organizations have no governance comms plan for this. Someone in IC is going to inherit that problem, whether they volunteer or not.
