🚀 A New Way to Power Up Your Career
Imagine: It's Monday morning (ok, maybe it’s Tuesday…Mondays are rough).
You're bursting with ideas to elevate your comms strategy. Or maybe you’re eager to explore new career paths or polish your resume for a dream job opportunity. Or, perhaps you are stressing about a high-stakes project or a page of key messages.
Now, imagine having a McKinsey-trained comms expert just a click away to help you seize those opportunities and overcome any challenges standing in your way.
That's Strictly Advisory, my new service to help comms professionals power up their careers in one hour or less. Drawing on 25 years of in-house comms and consulting experiences, I am offering high-impact, "drive-thru" sessions in three areas:
Career Development: Explore career pathways and craft your compelling job market narrative
Project Problem-Solving: Overcome challenges with structured, McKinsey-style approaches
Strategy and Message Effectiveness: Sharpen your comms strategies for maximum impact and efficiency
Strictly Advisory is all about helping you push the thinking on an idea, deliverable or project — and your career aspirations. And it’s designed with busy professionals in mind, which means all sessions are:
Time-Efficient: All sessions are 1 hour or less, available nearly every business day
Near-Zero Prep: Answer 3 quick questions, I'll handle the rest
Practical & Actionable: Walk away with 2-3 realistic, achievable steps
In many ways, this formalizes something I’ve been doing informally for years with colleagues and mentees…and I’m excited to help more people!
As a special thank you to subscribers, you can save 15% off any Strictly Advisory session by using the code LAUNCH15. The coupon expires on August 30 and I have availability through the end of 2024. It would be great to meet you!
BTW, this is the longest “ad” for Strictly Advisory you’ll ever see here — the Strictly Internal Newsletter will continue to deliver fresh jobs and insights every week, for free. 🙂
A special thanks to friends and subscribers who helped me build Strictly Advisory. I couldn’t have done it without you!

New insights
Internal comms legend Mike Klein has a new podcast and episode one talks about how communicators can enhance effectiveness by focusing on risk mitigation instead of adding value. Check it out!
Ever been in a discussion about whether to open or close comments during a town hall? Yeah, me too. FWIW, some new research from the influencer marketing world shows that disabling comments negatively impacts the persuasiveness, likability, and perceived sincerity of the speaker. My sense is you would find similar results in an internal comms context, and hopefully this research helps.
