49 Jobs + The channel monopoly is gone

New IC roles at Disney, eBay, EY, Sage, Comcast, BCG, and more — including two remote and four change comms and transformation roles.

  • AI vendors move past drafting

What caught our eye in jobs this week

Sage gives colleague communications regular access to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team. The work sits where the company narrative meets restructures, acquisitions, and operating-model shifts.

Aurora wants internal comms close to AI tools, the intranet, executive messages, and employer brand. A lot of connective tissue for one autonomous-vehicle company.

Signals

The AI vendor story is no longer “write faster.” Interact, Firstup, and Poppulo are selling search, actions, moderation, audience building, and measurement as part of the IC stack.

The practitioner version of AI is less glamorous than the vendor version. Candice Rahme, Emily Kirwan, and Allie Wickert are talking about bottlenecks, standards, leader support, and workflow design.

Permissioning is becoming part of comms strategy. Staffbase frames AI intranet value around role-aware access, findability, and trust measurement, not just faster content production.

Insights

The channel monopoly is gone

Candice Rahme wrote that IC no longer has a “monopoly on information”; stories move across leaders, teams, screenshots, and informal channels whether IC approves them or not. That leaves IC with a more durable job: standards, leader support, and message judgment.

Trust fell where IC is meant to work

IoIC’s 2026 IC Index says 54% of UK employees rate organizational communication as excellent, down nine points from 2025. Half do not trust their CEO or senior leaders, and most have 10 minutes or less a day for internal communication. The audience problem is not only attention; it is belief under time pressure.

Listening starts with leader behavior

A 2026 Frontiers in Psychology study of 342 members across 68 virtual teams found that relationship-oriented leadership was associated with movement from silence to voice, with psychological safety carrying much of the effect. Listening tools can collect comments. Leader behavior decides how much voice exists.
