What caught our eye in jobs this week

Advocate Health wants a Director of People Communications Technology and Innovation. The title puts technology inside people communications.

Navy Federal Credit Union carved out an internal comms role for enterprise AI strategy. Forbes and Fortune both rank it among the best places to work.

Babcock put its Head of Communications inside the Chief Data Officer's team. The role asks for senior internal, change, or transformation communications experience.

👆 Editor’s note: Wispr Flow is worth trying. It's our most used AI tool. By far. We still type, but for long-form thinking, especially when working with AI, dictation is faster and more convenient. The free tier is generous, so you'll get far with that.

Signals

LumApps adds Comeen. The definitive agreement to acquire Comeen, adds space management, desk booking, visitor services, and digital signage to its AI employee hub. The deal closes in May and follows last year's Beekeeper merger.

SharePoint gets AI authoring. This week's Microsoft 365 roadmap roundup shows AI-assisted site and page creation in SharePoint, using Anthropic models, rolling out through May alongside 31 new templates and a Viva Connections mobile redesign.

Five-day mandates still are not moving attendance. VergeSense says 55% of Fortune 100 companies mandate five days in the office, but attendance moved only 1-3% as required days increased 12%. Friday remains 44% lighter than Tuesday.

Insights

The AI workflow story is getting less abstract

Tetyana Skrypka's Workshop recap: email still anchors the mix at 95% use and 81% perceived effectiveness, 42% of teams now use AI daily, 68% put automation at the top of the AI list, and 4% say managers are very effective. From hype to workflows.

IC is being asked for business proof

Mani Maheshwari's Simpplr summit note includes a notable number: 89% of executives now expect IC success to be measured against business metrics. Internal and change comms are increasingly becoming transformation partners. But what about the measurement stack..? (If you have working solutions, please reply to this email.)

Leadership is overestimating AI enthusiasm

People Element's 2026 Employee Engagement Report, based on feedback from 300+ organizations and more than 94,000 responses, says Communication & Employee Voice has remained one of the strongest predictors of engagement for four consecutive years. In its AI section, the report cites Harvard Business Review data showing that 76% of executives think employees are excited about AI, versus 31% of employees who say they are. That's a large gap to carry into any rollout.
