From doer to decision maker: Learn how to lead comms with influence

Internal communicators are often seen as doers, not decision makers. But that perception is changing, and it starts with you.

At Staffbase's VOICES Virtual 2025, award-winning strategist and LinkedIn Top Voice Shadé Zahrai will share practical guidance to help you grow your strategic impact and shift how internal comms is valued across your organization.

In her session, you'll learn how to:

  • Boost your influence and leadership presence

  • Build the credibility that earns trust at the highest levels

  • Position yourself as a strategic partner--not just a tactical resource

If you're ready to lead change instead of simply communicating it, this session is for you.

Insights

  • Speaking a little more slowly makes people seem more empathetic, which leads others to like them more says new research from Wharton which found slowing speech by just 10% increased customer satisfaction by 7.1%. Worth a read and maybe useful data for coaching some leaders before their next town hall.

  • Have you ever been asked to lead the comms plan for an organizational change, knowing the change would affect you and your team? That’s the subject of this article by Louise Thompson in Strategic magazine. She has some good advice on how to prepare yourself and work though this kind of challenging sitution.

  • Are people tuning out halfway through the all-hands meeting? Check out this free webinar from Workshop on May 21 with organizational psychologist Lindsey Caplan and learn practical ways to transform broadcasts into moments for true engagement.

  • Working in life sciences? Don’t miss this event on May 29 from Bink (formerly Brilliant Ink) where leaders will share how top company’s are navigating significant change in the industry and lead small-group discussions.
