What to expect
The first day focuses on managers and the channels frontline employees use. Shea Sullivan (Comms at Work) leads a workshop on culture change, including audits, manager tools and feedback mechanisms. Erin Abbey (Abbey Communications Group) follows with building the manager cascade before a change announcement, from clarifying the reason for change to preparing managers for conversations about personal impact. A panel compares huddles, apps, signage, email, texts and bulletin boards, including channels that have failed to reach employees.
The second day covers managers as a trusted channel, measuring frontline reach and prioritizing messages. Jen Page’s (HCA Healthcare) session considers how to distinguish critical information from useful updates and lower-priority messages, then choose their timing, frequency and channels. A closing panel explores how surveys, focus groups, manager conversations and informal feedback lead to changes in communication. The live programme includes discussion and Q&A.
