What to expect
Lynn Zimmerman leads a workshop on preparing managers to communicate difficult news, including manager toolkits and responding to employee concerns. Angela Sinickas explores how research into employees’ knowledge and attitudes can shape a change communication plan. A panel examines employee trust during mergers, restructures and technology implementations.
The second day turns to communication structures and delivery. Emi Sasagawa discusses redesigning a faculty-wide communications function around shared governance and embedded communicators. Shari Medini covers equipping managers to pass on strategic messages during change. Michelle Wagner’s MidPen Housing case examines how the People Team prepared managers before announcing a move to performance-based merit through Lattice.
A closing panel covers using employee feedback, communication data and business metrics to assess change communications. The virtual format includes discussion, breakout conversations and Q&A.
