Strategy and assessed work
The diploma examines internal communication as a management function, including leadership, organizational culture, and change.
The assessment gives that study a specific focus: a management proposal evaluating internal communication and recommending improvements to strategy and performance. You can base it on your organization, a client, or another organization of your choice. PR Academy gives the impact of digital media on internal communication as an example topic.
What the course covers
- Leadership, culture, and change Organizational structures, leadership, and management; the role of internal communication in major change programs; and approaches to communication and engagement during change.
- Employee voice and engagement Keeping employees informed, listening, authenticity, and dialogue, alongside the psychology of communication and engagement.
- Research, planning, and evaluation Audit and research methods, audiences and messaging, project management, channel management, and content creation and curation. The syllabus also covers ethical practice and evaluating outputs and outcomes.
Studying and qualifying
You study online through PR Academy’s Study Hub, with an online library, live sessions, one-to-one tutorials, and individual feedback on your assignment idea. Live sessions include AI for planning and measurement. PR Academy says its live workshops are recorded for playback.
Start any time and work at your own pace. The course takes approximately six months; PR Academy’s guide says you have just over a year to complete it. Ask the provider about weekly study time and live-session dates and time zones when planning your commitment.
Successful assignments receive a pass, good pass, or excellent pass. CIPR issues a digital badge, with the option of a certificate.
PR Academy describes the teaching and assessment as approximately master’s level. Its guide says CIPR does not formally map the qualification against these levels. This is a professional qualification, not a master’s degree.
Entry guidance, fees and booking conditions
PR Academy’s guide suggests a degree or the CIPR internal communication certificate and around five years in internal communication or a related field. These are guidelines; ask the provider if your route or experience differs.

VAT applies to the £1,349 tuition portion according to your location and situation; PR Academy lists £2,154.80 including VAT. Installments are available. Assignment resubmission costs £85 plus VAT.
