The work

As the dedicated internal communications lead for Viasat Government, you will develop and deliver a strategy for the segment, supporting change, organisational alignment and business growth. The role sits within the larger Corporate Communications internal communications team, which serves more than 7,000 Viasat employees.

You will manage communication channels and use employee feedback, engagement data and business insights to improve messaging and address communication gaps. Working across business units, Corporate Communications and Marketing, you will align internal messaging with government relations, PR and enterprise branding.

The role advises segment leaders on organisational messaging, engagement, transformation and executive communications, translating complex defence, government technology and operational information for employees.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of internal communications and change management experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Public Relations or Journalism, or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing programmes of significant scope independently and advising senior leaders with sound judgement.
• A track record of translating strategic goals into employee communication strategies, and strong writing and speaking skills, including content for large global corporate audiences.
• Project management skills to handle changing deadlines and priorities.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience supporting government, defence or highly regulated sectors is preferred. Familiarity or comfort with government, defence or technology environments would also help.
