Labor Relations Craft Communication and Engagement Specialist
Support communications and engagement with craft professionals on Bechtel’s Cheyenne Power Hub project, a gas-fired power generation facility, working alongside field supervision, union representatives, Workforce Services and project leadership.
The work
Regular field visits and feedback channels put the specialist in contact with craft professionals, foremen and supervisors. Through conversations, surveys, listening sessions and focus groups, the role gathers concerns and trends, helping identify issues before they become labour-management matters. The specialist communicates findings to Labor Relations leadership, keeps records of feedback and refers complaints and labour relations matters to the appropriate personnel.
The communications work covers bulletins, newsletters and project updates, as well as campaigns on project initiatives, attendance expectations, work rules and policy changes. The specialist also supports workforce information meetings and communication around concerns and their resolution.
The specialist coordinates recognition and milestone programmes, tracking engagement programme participation and effectiveness. The role also supports new-hire orientation and onboarding communications, helps maintain relationships with local labour organisations and helps coordinate communications during workforce mobilisation and major project milestones.
