Communications Intern - Summer 2027
This Summer 2027 internship supports internal and external corporate communications in the healthcare technology sector, as part of McKesson’s Commercial Strategy and Innovation team.
The work
The intern helps draft, edit and proofread materials ranging from internal announcements and presentations to press releases, website content and social posts. They support campaigns and events, manage content on internal communications platforms and external digital channels, and work with other departments to gather information and keep messaging consistent.
Research into industry trends, competitors and media coverage informs the communications work. The intern also assists with media monitoring and effectiveness reporting, and provides administrative support to the communications team.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, English or a related field, with graduation expected in autumn 2027 or spring 2028.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including a strong command of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and organisational skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems.
- Prior internship experience in communications or a related field.
