Senior Internal Communications Officer
Work with colleagues across Core and Enabling Services to plan and deliver internal communications that support the GLA’s business priorities.

The work
As part of the Internal and Change Communications team, you’ll contribute to annual communications plans and coordinate campaigns, content, approvals and timelines. You’ll meet stakeholders to agree communications approaches and turn complex information into clear messages for different audiences.
Writing spans intranet stories, colleague updates, leadership messages, briefings and newsletters. You’ll also review channel performance, colleague feedback and engagement data to identify improvements.
The role includes helping to deliver some of the organisation’s largest staff events: coordinating logistics and event communications, preparing materials, and supporting speakers, suppliers and stakeholders.
Requirements
The GLA says candidates must demonstrate:
- Experience developing and delivering measurable, effective internal communications and engagement plans in a complex environment.
- Experience giving clear, consistent internal communications advice to a range of stakeholders.
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Judgement in tailoring clear, timely and appropriate messages to different audiences and channels.
- Ability to translate complex information into engaging, accessible content.
- A proactive approach to building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience organising large-scale staff events, including logistics, content such as scripts and slides, and event and communications support.
The personal statement must also address four behavioural competencies: communicating and influencing (level three), building and managing relationships (level three), organisational awareness (level two), and planning and organising (level two).
